BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) surface area analysis allows for the measurement of the surface area of materials through the physical absorption of gas molecules onto its surface. The results are calculated and presented in surface area per mass of sample m²/g. Surface area and porosity are important physical properties that influence the quality and utility of materials and products.  The TriStar II surface area analyser is a fully automated, three station BET surface area and porosity analyser. Its three sample ports can operate simultaneously and independent of one another and the measurements can be performed in less than 20 minutes.
The TriStar can collect up to 1000 data points and surface areas as low as 0.01 m2/g can be measured with the standard nitrogen system.
